Single-Wide Moves, Start to Finish

A single-wide travels as one load, so there’s no splitting or rejoining at the new site. It’s still an oversize load, though, and it still needs the right permits, a planned route and a proper setup when it arrives.

We handle all of it with one crew and one quote: teardown at the old lot, permits and escorts, transport, and blocking, leveling and anchoring at the new one.

Single-wide mobile home set on blocks

What’s Included

Planning

We review the home, the route and both sites, and confirm what the new county needs before moving day.

Teardown

We remove skirting and steps, disconnect the home, release the anchors and check the axles, tires and hitch.

Permits and escorts

We get oversize permits for every state on the route and arrange escorts where the permit calls for them.

Transport

Our trucks and drivers move the home on a route planned around low bridges, tight turns and travel-time limits.

Setup

We block, level and anchor the home to the rules where it lands, and reinstall skirting and steps.

One quote

Teardown, permits, escorts, transport and setup are all in one written quote, so you know the full price before you book.

How a Single-Wide Move Works

  1. Request a quote. Tell us the home’s size, where it is, where it’s going and your preferred date through our quote form.
  2. We plan the move. We check the route and both sites, and may ask for photos.
  3. Paperwork. We apply for transport permits. You handle anything only the owner can, such as county tax paperwork or park approval.
  4. Moving day. We tear down, load and haul the home, usually in one day for local moves.
  5. Setup. We set the home on its new pad, ready for utility hookups and inspection.

Single-Wide Moving Cost

Most of our moves cost $2,000 to $15,000, and single-wides usually sit toward the lower part of that range, especially local moves with easy access and standard setup. Distance, the number of states on the route and the amount of setup work move the price up. See our pricing page for what every quote includes.

How to Get Your Single-Wide Ready

  • Pack and secure loose items, and empty cabinets of anything heavy.
  • Ask the utility companies to disconnect service before moving day.
  • Clear a path for the truck at both sites, including low branches and fences.
  • Have the pad and utilities at the new site ready before the home arrives.

Our single-wide transport guide and moving checklist cover each step in more detail.

Licensed Movers and Installers

Our own crews have moved and set up homes since 2012. We’re licensed, bonded and insured, and we hold state installer licenses in many of the states we serve, plus a HUD manufactured home installer license for states that follow HUD’s program. Read how to choose a licensed mobile home mover.

We move single-wides across the country. See the states we serve on our locations page.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to move a single-wide mobile home?

Most of our moves cost $2,000 to $15,000, and single-wides usually fall toward the lower part of that range. Distance, permits and setup decide the exact price.

Do you set up the home after the move?

Yes. Blocking, leveling, anchoring and reinstalling skirting and steps are part of every single-wide move we do.

How long does it take to move a single-wide?

The move itself often takes one day for a local move. Permits and planning usually take a few weeks, so it’s best to contact us four to eight weeks ahead.

Can an older single-wide be moved?

Often, yes. We check the frame, axles and tires first. Some older homes need repairs before they can travel, and some counties have rules for older homes, so we’ll tell you what we find.

Do you get the moving permits?

Yes. We apply for the oversize transport permits for every state on the route. Owner paperwork, such as county tax forms or park approval, stays with you, and we’ll tell you what’s needed.
